Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries, Inc. Showcases Commitment to Community and Environmental Stewardship on Earth Day

Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries, Inc. proudly announces its significant participation in Earth Day celebrations, showcasing a strong commitment to community service and environmental preservation.

On April 22nd, 16 dedicated employees from Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries joined forces with the City of Springfield Parks Department in a concerted effort to clean up the Wabash Bike Trail. Armed with determination and a desire to make a difference, our team worked tirelessly throughout the morning, filling an impressive 25-30 large trash bags with debris and waste. Their unwavering dedication to restoring the beauty of our local environment exemplifies our organization’s core values of service and responsibility.

Additionally, as part of our ongoing efforts to support our community, Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries Youth Services Group partnered with the City and the AmeriCorps team to further extend our impact on Earth Day. Our youth took part in distributing food from the Central Illinois Food Bank to micro-pantries across Springfield, providing essential resources to those in need. Furthermore, our youth volunteers lent their hands to landscaping and planting new flowers for the Delta Church, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of a cherished community space.

“We are immensely proud of our employees and youth volunteers for their outstanding contributions on Earth Day,” said Ron Culves, President & CEO of Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries, Inc. “Their dedication to service and environmental stewardship truly embodies the spirit of our organization. By coming together to clean up our trails, support local food initiatives, and beautify community spaces, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of others and the health of our planet. Recycle. Reuse. Repurpose. We consistently use this mantra in our everyday work life.” Last year, Land of Lincoln Goodwill diverted over 11 million pounds of material away from landfills.
Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, partners, and supporters who helped make these Earth Day initiatives a resounding success. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to building a brighter, more sustainable future for generations to come.
